Systematic Alignment
Legitimation
Systematic alignment is a credibility-manufacturing technique where coordinated networks of ostensibly independent actors (academics, think tanks, media, civil society organizations) produce mutually reinforcing content that creates the false appearance of organic consensus around state-aligned positions, exploiting audiences’ reasonable assumption that information confirmed by multiple independent sources is more likely to be true.
