Awareness levels determine a population’s capacity to detect and critically assess information manipulation, shaping collective resistance or vulnerability. High awareness fosters skepticism, counters manipulation, and promotes societal resilience; low awareness leaves groups susceptible to deceptive narratives, polarization, and exploitation by external or internal actors.
